Leaving battery plugged to AC

Steve Oct 24, 2014 04:55PM EDT

If I want to have the battery ready in the event of an emergency, can I leave it permanently plugged to AC?
Or would I be better off only plugging it in occassionally to keep it topped off?

Hi Steve,

There’s no need to leave it permanently plugged in to a charger. Once it has fully charged, it will maintain that charge for several months without loosing any noticable capacity. If you want to charge it a few times a year to make sure it’s full then go for it. It is better to store the batteries for long periods of time when they are full, rather than when they are empty.
