Daisy Chain v72 and load sharing

Bob Oct 11, 2014 03:36PM EDT

Is there a way to daisy chain multiple V72's (i.e. put them in a pelican case and solar or AC/DC charge using external harness? While there will be losses, does the V72 allow for this setup to charge multiple batteries?

Also, does the V72 allow for pass-through / load sharing?

Hi Bob, very good questions.

The V72 is not designed to be daisy chained, but two V72’s can be charged in parallel from a single charging source (solar or AC charger). It would require a bit of a hack and possibly some soldering, but it’s very possible.

They can also be connected in parallel to supply power to something else. You’d need on of our 7-splitters with two male ends, and two barrel adapters to go from the output cable of the V72. This will provide the same voltage as both batteries would provide individually, but twice the current. Make sure both V72’s are set to the same voltage, otherwise it may not charge at all.
