Battery Status on screen does not indicate that the laptop is charging when plugged into the V72 battery at either the 19V/3A setting or the 16V/3.5A setting. The output rating on my adapter for the notebook is 18.5V/3.5A - is the V72 not compatible with this laptop?

Hi Mark, sorry to hear that your laptop isn’t charging. Unfortunately both the current and voltage of the battery output need to exceed the requirements of the laptop, otherwise it won’t charge. If the laptop tries to pull 3.5A from the battery at the 19V setting, it will shut down to protect itself against short circuiting.

Try charging when the laptop is asleep or turned off, as they require much less power than when then are actively used.

Regards
Tony
